We are excited to welcome Tom Wright and Ann-Marie Fowler (Freetown Finance Limited) to the Synergy network.
Tom & Ann-Marie met in 2013 working as self-employed regulated advisers and hit it off straight away, however only just decided to join forces with Freetown.
Tom has joined Synergy Commercial Finance after having his own Residential and Buy to Let Mortgage Brokerage (Liverpool-Mortgages) for 6 years.
Prior to that, Tom worked in Mortgages at a high street bank – one of the ‘Big 5’, but got very quickly fed up of saying ‘No’ to clients at the end of a 1½hr appointment, only to see them a week later and be told they had got approved over the road at a competitor bank!
Tom added “It made sense to not only go self-employed but also get a whole of market offering, so I could deliver as many approvals as humanly possible. Since setting up as self-employed we have been able to approve over £1 million pounds of new lending per month – nothing feels better than getting a ‘Yes’ for someone that has been turned down by their own bank, we are the first to recognise that most banks don’t meet modern-day clients’ needs”
Ann-Marie fell into the property sector at the of age 25, buying rental properties for investment clients. She qualified as a Regulated mortgage broker 10 years ago, working self-employed under MAB within Manchester-based estate agents, now running her own AR firm Mortgage Bird. She has a passion for property and loves playing with big numbers.
Both Ann-Marie & Tom are adamant that they “want to be able to give the best advice to our clients, which means having as many lenders as possible to find the best product – not every deal is about getting the best possible interest rate, as there are so many other factors and flexible features but it’s great to get under the skin of a deal and present all of the available options to our clients”
Having worked in the regulated mortgage market for so long, through the toughest times imaginable, Tom and Ann-Marie are excited to add Synergy’s arsenal of 250+ new lenders to their portfolio, adding “Synergy has unrivalled access to lenders and a reputation for quality advice, which is why some lenders will also give us preferential rates for our clients”.
We asked Tom and Ann-Marie how they are planning to attract business, they responded, “Our existing clients recommend us constantly, so, like any specialist ‘word of mouth’ has always been the best generator for us.” Tom also has a large following on LinkedIn and does lots of networking, he’s always “pounding the pavements around Liverpool getting involved with new finance projects”.
