After starting his career in the Manchester region as a teller at Halifax Bank, Jonny Fletcher quickly moved up the ranks to Banking Advisor. Jonny then moved to Australia with his wife & son, where he became a Mortgage Advisor and an Assistant Branch manager for Bank of Queensland. After a few years and the arrival his 2nd son, Jonny decided to go into Business Development with a well-known engineering company, that took him all over the world, meeting and negotiating with different people.
Jonny then moved back to England where he started working at a high street bank as a Relationship Manager specialising in the Professions sector, it was in this role that Jonny started to build his client base.
Most recently an opportunity was presented to Jonny to help build a new funder. Unfortunately, due to COVID Jonny was ultimately made redundant.
Jonny commented “I knew I still wanted to work within financial services and keep working with my client base I have worked hard to build over the past few years. Opportunities were there to join other funders but the opportunity to be self-employed and coming from the back of a company I helped build, seemed like a natural progression to try and go at it alone.
What attracted me to AFS was the broker in the box package. Having the compliance aspect all built in was huge, knowing that everything they and myself do, is all to the book was very important to me. The range of funders was also appealing, as instead of dealing with the 1 underwriter I have for so many years, there are dozens more that I can contact.
Finally, the work/life balance was very appealing. I guess after a long lock-down period and being at home more with the ability to see my children growing up the thought of managing my own time was a key driver to my decision to go self employed.”
Jonny is hoping to reconnect with his key clients who he has served over the past few years. As well as good old-fashioned hard work, determination and liaising with potential new clients on a daily basis. He is also looking to have a strong social media presence as well as working along side a family business, Inspiring Your Success, where they can introduce Jonny’s business to their clients.
