Spencer Pilling has ‘finally’ joined Asset Finance Solutions as a Trainee Sales Support Co-Ordinator.
After an initial enquiry into an Apprenticeship many many months ago, we invited Spencer Pilling into the office for an interview and offered him an Apprentice role back in November 2020.
Due to Tier 3, then Tier 4 and lastly the national lockdown, we kept putting Spencer’s start date off. At the start 2021, we took the plunge and decided it’s now or never…..we can’t wait for this pandemic to suddenly end!
Spencer Pilling is therefore starting employment working from home, which is no easy feat for anyone. He’s remained positive and eager and he’s hoping to better his skills and create a relationship with the rest of the AFS team, through this virtual workspace, ready for when we can get back into some kind of normality and into the office as usual.
Although Spencer doesn’t have any experience in the finance industry, he has studied Business for 4 years in total, including GCSE level and AS Level. Spencer has taken it upon himself to look into the apprenticeship route, as a pose to furthering his education in A Levels. More importantly to quickly gain real life work experience and insight knowledge in a working environment thus enabling him to become more influential and of a greater benefit and asset to AFS.
Spencer is eager to have a long-term involvement with AFS and what better way to start then as an Apprentice learning the role inside out so he can work his way up the rankings over time to make a mark in the company.
Spencer Pilling explained “ I am thankful for the opportunity to get a start in a successful and well-established business like AFS at an early stage. I am very keen to get stuck in with whatever tasks I will be presented with. I cannot wait to get into the flow of things in my new job as it has been built up for so long by constant interruptions due to new rules and regulations. The online approach may be more of a challenge than an in-office start would have been. Yet I am one hundred percent prepared for it all.”
Our Sales Director, Lee Simms, who will be Spencer’s manager said ‘We are really pleased to have Spencer join us as our first apprentice, his enthusiasm and eagerness to learn shone through while we were talking to him and we look forward to helping him understand the world of asset finance. We are also looking forward to hearing the ideas and suggestions that he will bring with him as someone from outside the industry.’
Welcome to the team, Spencer!
