It’s not only Synergy Commercial Finance who will be celebrating this VE Day bank holiday
For the millions of people still working every day, plus of course all those now on furlough, unable to work, unemployed and enduring what is now the seventh week of the coronavirus lockdown; this bank holiday weekend will bring a welcome spot of relief and relaxation …
The 75th anniversary of VE Day affords everyone an opportunity to remember all those who served in Britain’s war effort all those years ago; whether in the forces or on the home front. The 8th May 1945 marked the end of hostilities in Europe and as you will see from the many film clips of the day now being shown on TV and across different media platforms, it was a time of incredible relief and excitement predicting that at last the people of Britain could now look forward to better times ahead.
In many respects history is once again repeating itself. The whole country is in quarantine as we strive to beat what this time is an invisible foe. Unseen but still potentially deadly. Almost everyone from the heroic front line medical staff to all those adhering to government advice: staying at home, staying safe and protecting the NHS, is now eagerly anticipating the extended bank holiday weekend.
At Synergy all our office teams, as well as our national network of commercial finance brokers have been exceptionally busy and so on this VE Day anniversary bank holiday please take a moment or two to reflect on the past efforts and sacrifices that the people of Britain made all those years ago.
And, in addition, please spare a thought for all our heroic NHS staff who are working so hard and so selflessly in the battle to curb the horrific effects of the Covid-19 infection. And please do not forget everyone else who is working to keep the country operating as close to normal as is possible: the care home staff, care support workers and the paramedics who are dealing with distressing cases every single day. Also remember the vital role of Britain’s farmers, retail staff, transport workers, postal personnel, couriers, refuse workers and everyone else whose efforts are so vital to maintaining our nation’s wellbeing.
From everyone at Synergy Commercial Finance and from all our brokers, may we say a huge ‘THANK YOU’. Let’s hope that the worst is now behind us and like all those people in 1945 … let’s look forward to better times ahead.
