Laura Day has joined Asset Finance Solutions trading as LD Finance Solutions Limited.
Laura has gathered a unique set of skills from her experience in varied sectors, has 15 years of working in the finance industry and has been a finance broker since 2015.
Working for Speedy Services as credit controller for 6 years Laura gained commercial awareness in the construction industry. With the opportunity to obtain CICM Qualifications this gave her a unique approach to brokering later in her career. Laura relocated to Windsor in 2014 to work with an international aid and development charity called Habitat for Humanity, and she also worked for BEN the benevolent fund for people in the automotive industry.
After redundancy Laura made a career change by working for Car Leasing Made Simple in 2015. It was here that she first became a broker and expanded her knowledge on vehicle assets, contract hire and finance lease products for both regulated and unregulated business. In 2017 Laura decided to grow leasing industry knowledge and worked for Reality Finance as asset finance broker. In 2020 Laura worked for Primary Asset Finance and evolved the asset finance team offering with development of a website, marketing, and sales functions.
Since January 2021, with the skills Laura had acquired over the years plus a post-covid relocation back to Merseyside she decided to set up her own finance brokerage. Laura had always been aware of AFS from working with her peers in the industry and upon her visit to head office said “The AFS broker in the box offering gave me peace of mind that I will be supported by the team here. The compliance and professional membership of the NACFB alongside the FCA accreditations will be at the heart of LD Finance Solutions right from the start of my new venture.”
As most of her customers know her as LD, it seemed like the perfect name to start the business with. Laura is excited about the future of the business and will be looking to rebrand and grow over the coming months – watch this space!
Having a direct sales background what appeals most to Laura about being broker is that it is a very people driven industry and says “You are never working on the same thing and every day presents a new challenge and an opportunity to learn. The positive relationships I have built up with lenders, suppliers and clients over the years are invaluable.”
Laura will be looking to speak with business owners and finance directors in all industries to help them manage their cashflow for any requirement whether that is asset finance or working capital products.
